Personalized Care

FAQ’s

1. How do I know if I need this?

See Beyond feels that everyone can benefit from Personalized Care. This life is tough, and we cannot walk this journey on our own. We believe that “prevention is better than restoration.” By having someone journey with you, our hope is that this will allow you to “Do Better, Stay Longer” and avoid some of the common pitfalls and stressors of cross-cultural living.

The free, 30-minute Discovery Session will help you and the Personalized Care Provider determine if Personalized Care is what you really need for your current situation and season of life—or whether you need something else.

Wanting to take care of yourself and having someone join you in the process is a common desire among expatriates. We affirm you for wanting to take care of yourself so that you can “Do Better, Stay Longer.”

If your Personalized Care Provider ever feels that you’d benefit from more specialized care, he or she will refer you as needed.

2. How confidential is Personalized Care?

Privacy is important to us. We will not share your information or the content of your conversations with anyone, except in rare circumstances.

We will share with appropriate authorities, specialists, and/or organizations, as legally or ethically required, when we hear about situations from our clients that involve harm to self or others. Sometimes, we might share with a See Beyond supervisor or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) when we are unclear on how to help you and need professional input to best serve you.

If the client’s organization or company is paying for the Personalized Care service, sometimes they will request a report from See Beyond. Our preference is to only report that the meetings are taking place. However, if more information is required, all three parties (the organization, the See Beyond provider, and the client) will determine, in advance, what will and will not be included in the report.

4. What if I don’t “click” with my provider?

We really care about finding a good fit for you. We encourage you to meet with your provider a few times and if it isn’t “clicking,” let us know. We can find a better fit for you, and we won’t take it personally. Feel free to contact us at Katherine@seebeyond.cc.

3. How will I get matched?

You will be matched with a Personalized Care Provider who we think will best meet your specific needs (season of life, location, gender, style—debriefing, coaching, mentoring, spiritual direction, combo). You will meet with the same Personalized Care Provider each time, so that you can develop an ongoing, personal relationship with him or her.

6. Do you offer this for teens?

We have several TCK staff who are able to offer this to a limited number of teens. Just mention that you are looking for service for a teenager when you fill out the form.

5. How are Providers qualified?

Each of our Personalized Care Providers has gone through See Beyond’s rigorous application process. He or she is certified in debriefing and trained in at least one other skill set, like coaching or spiritual direction. We haven’t just taken their word that they have skills—we’ve observed and evaluated them to see that they meet our standards. They each live or have lived in North Africa, so they understand what cross-cultural life is like.

7. What if I don’t like it? can I get my money back?

Yes.

If you feel that Personalized Care isn’t working well for you, please let us know. We can make adjustments, find a better fit, or refund you.

8. What is required of me—What are my commitments?

To get started, there will be an initial 30-minute consultation with your Personalized Care Provider to determine your needs and the best package for you. You will also need to fill out some forms that will help your Personalized Care Provider get to know you better before your first scheduled appointment. After that, your time commitment will be based on the package you choose and the length and frequency of your meeting times.
